Because AI Balkan Friend does not require a user account or login, we do not collect personal identifiers like your name, phone number, or physical address. However, to provide the service, we process the following:
Chat Messages: When you send a message to an AI personality, that text is transmitted to our secure backend (Firebase Cloud Functions) and then to the Google Gemini LLM to generate a response.
Usage Data: We may collect basic, anonymous diagnostic data (such as crash reports) through Firebase to improve the app’s performance.
Local Storage: Your chat history is stored locally on your device using industry-standard encrypted local storage. We do not have access to your local chat history.
Server Processing: Messages sent to our backend are processed ephemerally to generate a response. We do not use your personal chat messages to build user profiles or for advertising.
To function, the app relies on the following trusted third-party providers:
Google Firebase: Used for backend functions and app hosting.
Google Gemini (LLM): Used to process chat text and generate AI responses. These providers process data according to their own strict privacy and security standards.
Google AdMob: Advertising and analytics.
We use the Google Mobile Ads SDK (AdMob) to display advertisements within our application. These ads are served by third-party advertising networks. In order to serve relevant ads and measure ad performance, these providers may automatically collect and use certain data, including:
Device Identifiers: Such as your Advertising ID.
Usage Information: Such as your interactions with advertisements and the app.
Technical Data: Such as your IP address (which may be used to estimate your approximate location).
This data is processed by our advertising partners for the purposes of serving personalized advertisements, analytics, and fraud prevention. Since this app does not use user accounts, all chat history is stored locally on your device. You can delete this data at any time by clearing the app’s cache or uninstalling the app.
